Does Ray Track Yoga? What a Screenless Tracker Can Tell You

Keep your practice free of another screen, and be clear about what you want your tracker to record.

Does Ray track yoga?

You can wear Ray while practicing yoga. Ray tracks everyday health metrics, including heart rate, HRV, sleep, temperature trends, steps and light exposure. You review your readings in the Chargerless app on iPhone or Android.

That answers one kind of tracking question: can a small device stay part of your health routine while you practice? A dedicated yoga workout log is a separate feature. Heart-rate and activity measurements alone do not identify a class, count poses or assess your form.

If you need automatic yoga-session recognition or a timed workout saved as “yoga,” ask us to confirm support in the current app and firmware before choosing Ray for that feature.

Start with the information you want

A daily step total is useful for a walk. It tells you much less about time spent holding a pose or stretching on a mat. A low step count after class is not a measure of how worthwhile the practice was.

Think about whether you want everyday health trends, a record of class duration, or instructions during the session. Ray’s published tracking features cover everyday health data; they should not be read as a promise of every sport-specific feature.

Keep the fit comfortable when you bend your wrist

Ray’s device weighs seven grams before the band. The band and clasp still matter, especially when your wrist bends or your hand rests on the floor.

Try your usual movements before class. Check for pressure from the case or clasp, and do not tighten the band to the point that it squeezes. If a position makes the tracker uncomfortable, take it off rather than forcing the fit. Our band-fit guide explains what to look for.

Leave the screen out of the session

Ray has no wrist display. Your readings are in the companion app, so there is no watch face to check between poses. That can suit a routine where you prefer to look at your data afterward.

It also means Ray cannot show a timer or instructions on your wrist. Choose with that trade-off in mind if you want prompts during class.

Plan daylight outside the studio

Ordinary indoor lighting does not charge Ray. An indoor class is time spent wearing it, not a substitute for outdoor sunlight.

Check the battery in the app and follow the current charging guidance. Sampling settings and usage affect battery life, so plan from your actual battery trend rather than assuming one reserve figure applies to every setting.
